Democrats of Camden County

The Camden County Democratic Committee will hold its next regular meeting on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at Committee Headquarters, 500-F West King Avenue (Dollar General Shopping Center), Kingsland, Georgia. Michelle Munroe, Democratic candidate for Georgia’s 1st Congressional District, and Lester Jackson, Democratic candidate for Labor Commissioner for the State of Georgia, will speak to the group and answer questions. Ms. Munroe is a retired US Army Colonel and the former commander of Winn Army Community Hospital at Ft. Stewart, Georgia. Mr. Jackson is a former Georgia State Senator. Both candidates will be present virtually. Make sure to mark your calendars for Earth Day April 22, 2021! The inaugural Earth Day was established on March 11^th, 1970 in Ann Arbor Michigan by a biologist by the name of Barry Commoner¹. The premise of Earth Day was to put a voice to cutting back greenhouse gasses, plastic overload, and to start lobbying for our environment. With the development of solar panels, electric vehicles (EV), and wind energy it is a beginning to offset the damage done to the earth. Make sure to get out and do your part. Here are a few lists of organizations and cleanups near us. If you cannot attend these events, then create your own. Go outside with the kids and plan some flowers, clean up trash in the river, or collect water bottles at the ocean. Any activity no matter how big or small can make a difference.
